Only The Good Die Young

There are days when I just feel like my life absolutely sucks. I regret decisions that I have made and am making, and I just want to give up and cry in some dark, far away corner.


 But then something snaps me back to reality. This reality normally involves the explanation of trials and tribulations that someone I know trusts me enough to let me in on. Due to this trust, I am not going to blab on here about any details...nothing. My friendships mean more to me than spilling out my friends' devastation on a blog. What they told me in an e-mail was just absolutely heartbreaking. I just got done reading it and I want to cry. I could never imagine going through something like that.


Everybody dies. That is the harsh reality in life. When it involves someone young and completely unexpected it just throws your whole view of EVERYTHING off kilter. There were two guys my age who I went to school with who passed away not too long after graduation. One of the guys was unfortunately murdered, and the other school mate died in his sleep. When I heard about both of their deaths it was devastating, and I rarely spoke to them! 


 Starting college was extremely overwhelming for me. I have always been the shy girl who only speaks to new people after they have initiated the conversation. I was lucky enough to know two girls when I started. We had all three worked together as cashiers at Home Depot that summer. Luckily, even with my shyness, we were able to meet a few new friends and after that our group grew to be like 25 of us!!!  


One of my new friends was named Jerri. She was the life of the party. She was so outgoing and completely opposite of myself. I loved who she was almost instantly! Her personality was INFECTIOUS! Jerri left college and moved back home with her parents after about two years. We lost touch, but I thought about her a lot still. She was my Jerri, and I missed her terribly! Almost two years ago I was in my car during my first break at work when I received a text message from our mutual friend Sam. It said that Jerri had gotten into a one car roll over accident early that morning and did not make it. I was absolutely crushed! Nothing and nobody can ever prepare you for a shock like that. It was horrible, and every time I think of her I still break down and cry. 


Then there was Justin. He was unlike anybody I have ever met before. He was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man I have ever known. We went to Junior High together and became fast friends. He was my Britney Spears buddy!!! We both were HUUUGE fans!!! It was super cool to share that with him!!! When I moved down to college I lost touch with a lot of friends including Justin. I will never forget the day my boyfriend and I decided to go to the Mall of America. We were hungry so we went to the food court and I received a text message that said "I see you!" It freaked me out at first because I did not recognize the number! Low and behold I turned around and Justin was there!!! We embraced in a big hug, spoke for a few minutes and went our separate directions. Unfortunately, I was only able to see him two more times before he passed away around a month ago. At first everybody thought that he had died from a heart attack but a day or so later it was concluded that he died of a torn Aorta.  Again, instant devastation! Why did this happen to him? Why did this happen to her? 


I have been to well over 30 funerals in my lifetime. Death is something that I have grown up with. At least once or twice a year I am attending a funeral. I always thought that the more funerals I would go to the easier they will get. That, my friends, is false. It never gets easier because you are not grieving the death but you are grieving the person. Each personality is different and that is why losing a loved one is always going to be hard. So what snapped me back to reality this time? Life is too short; embrace it and embrace the people you love and cherish because you never know when your last day will be with them. It's a sad yet very true reality. Only the good die young.......

Weird Dream

I have become fast friends with a co-worker of mine named Kim.  Kim fosters dogs through a few different local rescues so we definitely share the love of dogs.  She invited me to go with her to the local off leash dog park with my dog Kynzi, and we have been going ever since.

Anyways, it was about a week ago that I woke up early and decided to lay back down for a little while longer.  I had the weirdest dream, and Kim was my co-pilot!

Here it is:

It started off with Kim and I going on a road trip.  My dog Kynzi tagged along and Kim's dog Toby did as well!  Then my dream cut to us walking through some building and EVERYBODY was drunk surrounding us.  It was almost like we were down somewhere when Spring Break was occurring!  We were just walking through a hallway with stairs until we found a restaurant to eat at.  We were starving!  All in the mean time, Kynzi and Toby were following us.  My dream then cut to us driving to a different town.  I don't know what town it is.  I have never been there before, but I have always had dreams about this little town ever since I was little.  It has cobblestone walk ways, everybody is friendly, and I always go to the same store which has never been remodeled.  It would probably remind someone of a small Irish town possibly.  I'm not sure though, because I have never been to Ireland.

Anyways, so then we leave my dream town, and we are driving towards another destination.  We are on a back road and then the road changes in front of us and I have to jerk the steering wheel  to avoid the now non-paved area.  We drive around the just-arrived entrance ramp to the Freeway.  Just imagine those BIG staircases that go up and around in a big circle in a huge mansion.  THAT is what the entrance ramp was like.

So, we get onto the freeway and there is a whole bunch of construction going on.  Cones all over the place and there is no one driving through it except for us.  In front of me appears this HUGE construction vehicle.  I'm talking like 10 times the size of a normal one and there are these two mini construction workers standing at the front right of the vehicle.  I had to swerve to avoid them because they were not noticed until the last split second!  Then right after there were these HUMONGOUS robot dinosaurs all over the road!  There were people surrounding each one.  They seemed almost like trainers to these robots.  We stopped and asked them what the heck was going on and one of the trainers who was dressed up in army garb explained to us that the robots were going to be used in combat.

We start driving again and then the freeway abruptly ends again and we are on a side road.  The brakes FAIL!  We can not stop so we just coast along the road until the jeep that we are driving finally stops.....RIGHT outside of an auto repair shop.  A man walks out and says that my mom had called him and he was expecting us.  The dream ends.

Is that not one of the weirdest dreams EVER?!?!  I wanted to blog about it because I didn't want to forget about it, and I wanted Kim to read about it since she was the lucky one to be a part of it!  Thanks for reading!

Bluetooth Keyboard

I am currently on my new keyboard for my iPad! It's cute and little and will take some getting used to but I got it online from Walmart for $20! Needless to say that I was pretty excited! My laptop crashed right after I graduated from college! That is why I haven't been blogging very often! My apologies, but I AM BACK! YAY!!! -K.C.

Season 1: Episode 7: Life in a Glass House

It starts off by people mentioning the Team Sponsors party that Dan throws each year.  Peyton wants Lucas to go because they have a 'weird vibe' and will figure it out if he goes to the party.  He has no desire to spend his Friday night with Dan.
Brooke is trying to convince Nathan that Peyton wants to reconcile and get back together.  That is not the case, but Brooke wants Lucas and she has a feeling that her best friend Peyton wants him as well.

Haley shows up at Luke's house before the party and tells him that she is starting to develop feelings for Nathan.  He tells her that she knows how he feels about him but he understands.  Nobody can help their feelings for someone else.  It just is...

Jake, one of the Raven's Team Members, has been showing up late for basketball practice and Lucas asked him why.  Jake is being more secretive about everything.  He just says that he has 'obligations.'

Brooke gets caught in the relationship lies and manipulations.  Brooke goes into Nathan's dresser drawer and finds a Vodka bottle along with a 'study' care package with a note from Haley.  Brooke rebels by playing Truth or Dare and daring Peyton to show her true feelings by kissing Lucas in front of everybody.  She does.  Haley shows up later on with cakes for the party from Karen's Cafe and Brooke corners her and Nathan saying how they are so cute together and she gets it now.  She also lied and said that Nathan passed around the note to everybody during the party.  Haley tells Nathan to stay away from her.

Peyton and Lucas go into a room and are making out.  He tells her how long he has wanted 'us.'  He wants all of her.  Not just sex but her heart.  Normally us girls would LOVE to hear that from a guy, but what he said freaked her out and she left the room leaving Lucas stunned and confused. 

Later on at the end of this episode in her room, she drew this:

    After Lucas leaves the party, he stops by to say hi to Haley at Karen's Cafe.  She is on the floor, leaning against the counter, crying because of Nathan.  He consoles her and she tells him that she wants to be alone and that she'll be fine.  He leaves.  A little later Nathan shows up and tries to talk to her, but Haley won't let him in and turned the light off and walked into the back kitchen of the Cafe.  Nathan looked bummed out.

Season 1: Episode 6: Every Night Is Another Story

Karen is getting ready to go to a small business league meeting and asked Luke which dress she should wear: the red or the black.  Luke decides on the black but also mentions that Keith is going to be her date.  She said that it is not a real date and that they are going as friends.  She then asks Luke, "Why, did Keith say something?"  Luke responded with, "Not a word."

During their first away game, Luke and Nathan get into a fist fight on the court.  They were both kicked out of the game.  On their drive home, Coach Whitey made the bus pull over and kicked Luke and Nathan off the bus to take a 30 mile walk back home together and think about what they pulled that night.

While they are walking, a car pulls up and a guy inside asks if they want a ride.  Nathan goes to the side of the car and gets pulled in.  Luke went into the car willingly to make sure that Nathan would be safe.  They made Nathan and Luke take all their clothes off except their boxers and walk into a convenient store and buy random items written on a list.  They wrote 'ravens suck' on their backs.



Meanwhile, when the fight happened during the game, the guys ran into the cheerleaders and hurt Brooke's ankle.  She convinced the college-aged assistant to the sports doctor to give her medication for it.  She ended up getting pretty looped up and hilarity ensues.

Lucas ends with: "As happens sometimes, a moment settled and hovered and remained for much more than a moment.  And sound stopped, and movement stopped for much, much more than a moment and then the moment was gone."

Season 1: Episode 5: All That You Can't Leave Behind

Peyton is stopped at a green light and drives through town once they are all red.  We'll learn about this later.
Meanwhile, Haley admits to Luke that she is tutoring Nathan so he will leave Luke alone.  Luke wants her to quit tutoring him, but Haley said she can't because she made a promise to Nathan. 

There is a father/son basketball game and so Lucas asked Keith to play with him and he said yes.  There was an article on the front page of the newspaper about Dan Scott and his two sons.  Luke is sick of having to carry the Scott name and so he is seriously considering changing his name to his mom's last name: Lucas Roe.  Karen and Keith both don't want him to change his name just because Keith also carries the last name Scott. 

Peyton is struggling because it is the week that her mother died.  She was on her way to pick Peyton up from school and was running a little late so she ran a red light and was struck by another car and lost her life.  It had been 7 years since she died.

During the father/son basketball game, Dan became a little too competitive and shoved Nathan down to the ground to keep him from scoring.  He proved that he is a real ass, even to Nathan.  Dan seems to think that Nathan can never be as good of a basketball player as he is.  Nathan let the dads' win to prove a point to his father: he can never beat Nathan. 

At the end of the episode Luke says: "John Steinbeck once wrote: It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action we should remember our dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure on the world."

Season 1: Episode 4: Crash into You

This episode starts off with Dan telling Nathan to not let Lucas get the ball during the next game that night.  During the game, Nathan's wing man Tim passed the ball to Luke and Nathan got really pissed.  After the game, Nathan invites Luke to the after party at his beach house.  During the party, Brooke invites Luke to play the drinking game "I never."  While playing, Nathan said that he has never had a dad that wished he was a stain on the bed sheets.  Luke played it cool, walked over to him and said, "Then you're welcome to mine."  After a while, Nathan sees Luke talking to his girlfriend Peyton outside and gets jealous.  He puts in the tape of Luke's mom Karen and their dad Dan's Snowball court king and queen speech.  Lucas stormed off right after shoving Nathan into the wall.

Nathan gave Haley a ride home in Peyton's car.  While Nathan was driving back to the party, he crashed the car by sideswiping a parked vehicle and then running into a utility pole.  Lucas was following the car because he thought that Peyton was driving and she had been drinking and was concerned for her safety.  Nathan walked away from the accident and Luke decided to tow the car to Keith's Auto Body Shop to fix it himself.  He did not want Peyton to get in trouble for Nathan's stupidity and carelessness.  Peyton breaks up with Nathan because she was finally able to see the ass he truly was to everybody the night before; including herself.

Luke looked into the car later on and noticed that Haley's hat was on the seat.  He tells Nathan to stay the hell away from Haley.  This finding creates friction between the two best friends at the very end of the episode.  Luke asks if Haley would be completely honest with him and tell him if anything was going on and she responded with yes.  Luke pulled out her hat and told her, "You left this in Peyton's car."  OUCH!
